What if we created a tent sauna that fulfills everything one could ever ask of a true sauna?

And from these roots the story of Telttasaana began. We needed a mobile space – a tent – with a stove and stones. We wanted to create the possibility for löyly to come alive anytime, anywhere.

Why Settle for Compromise?

Around the world, many tent saunas have been built with one main idea: get a tent standing and put some kind of stove inside. But to Finns, a sauna is not just a warm tent or room – it is a living experience, where the heat of the stones, the hiss of water, and the soft embrace of löyly create a moment nothing else can replace.

That’s why we asked: why settle for compromise? Why not create a tent sauna that is a real sauna?

The Heart of the Sauna Is Löyly

When water meets hot sauna stones, something unique happens. It’s not just steam – it’s a soft, breathing, enveloping warmth that relaxes the body and quiets the mind. This is called löyly – and it cannot exist without a proper stove and a sufficient mass of stones.

From the beginning, it was clear to us that the heart of Telttasaana must be a stove carrying enough stones to generate authentic löyly, wherever it is needed.

A World of Compromises

In many tent saunas, the same problems repeat: benches are too low, causing the löyly to rise above your head. The stone mass is too small, and real löyly never forms. Ventilation is poor, leaving the air stuffy and uncomfortable to breathe.

The result is an experience that does not match the Finnish idea of sauna – more like just a warm tent.

Telttasaana Without Compromises

We chose to do things differently. In Telttasaana, the benches are raised high enough so that bathers sit at the right level with the löyly. The stove, designed in cooperation with Finnish company Narvi, carries a large stone mass that guarantees even heat and generous, soft löyly.

The tent structure and ventilation are carefully designed so that fresh air circulates and breathing feels natural. Thanks to these details, Telttasaana requires no compromises – it is a real, authentic sauna, even if it can be set up anywhere.
